Another First Friday weekend is upon us..... time to chase some history!

We managed to make history here in Kansas City yesterday, with the first significant snowfall on May 3rd, in 107 years.

While this has caused a number of organizations to postpone some outdoor events, the weather is still plenty good enough to hit the West Bottoms. Today, this evening, or through the weekend, head for another adventure to find that perfect "thing" that tells a story from the past.

Yes, its antique and collectable hunting time! Go search for that artifact  (the term we use in the history biz) that reaches out and connects you with some history or story in your own past. The many dealers in the neighborhood at the foot of the 12th Street viaduct has spent the past month searching and gathering fresh inventory for you to peruse and add to your own collections.

Whether manufactured, printed, painted or salvaged, there is something down there for everyone. When it talks to you, buy it and take it home, to find the perfect spot where it it can tell its story. Besides, the hunt is a good part of the fun!

We send a special "thank you" to Andy and Jan at The Red Shed for helping us find some special items for the upcoming JCHS History Center in The Truman Courthouse.

Check out their unique stuff, in a unique venue!  www.westbottomsantiques.com
