Independence celebrates Preservation Month

Independence will celebrate May Preservation Month with a full calendar of events.

Events include activities organized by the Truman Library and the National Park Service and include historic homes for sale, bus tours and weekly lunch and learn events. Download poster. 

The major event is on Sat., May 4th when a plaque for the expanded Truman National Historic Landmark District will be dedicated at noon at the corner of North Main and Truman Road. Please note that the Walkin' With Harry Tour has been postponed due to the weather, and is rescheduled for Saturday May 11th.  At 12:30 the Walkin' With Harry Tour will start, with a free t-shirt for the first 200 people for register.
