Two KC sites nominated for the National Register

Two Kansas City buildings are being nominated for the National Register of Historic Places.

The buildings are:

  • The Fairfax Building, 101 W. 11th St., Kansas City, Jackson County. This is a 12-story brick, terra cotta and concrete building designed in the Art Deco style. The 1929 building was designed by Kansas City architect Alonzo Gentry.
     
  • Interstate Bakeries Corporation Headquarters Building, 12 E. Armour Blvd., Kansas City, Jackson County. This is a mid modern building whose original south wing was constructed in 1952.
