Lee's Summit historic group raises funds for museum

The Lee’s Summit Historical Society plans to open its museum early next year in a refurbished 1939 post office.

The downtown post office is undergoing renovation, with money from a bond issue approved by Lee's Summit voters.

The local historical society also is raising funds for the project and is planning an Oct. 30th event from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at The New Stanley Aspen Room, 308 SE Douglas St

Tickets are $65 each. Tickets can be purchased in person at Cameron’s Home Furnishings, 26 SE Third St. downtown Lee's Summit.
