Stephenson's Restaurant, a local landmark restaurant, closed Valentine's Day 2007.  In February 2012, JCHS accepted donation of the familiar neon sign from family members,  as the building was demolished to clear the site for redevelopment.

“This was the largest Eastern Jackson County restaurant, and my 1969 summer job was spent serving on the dish room crew,” says Steve Noll, executive director of the Historical Society.  "The cool kids went to Woodstock, I went to Stephenson’s.”

The sign is currently in storage. JCHS is searching for the right place where it can be publicly displayed, and shine brightly again. Read Examiner story.
