This summer, Elena Cianciolo reached out to the Jackson County Historical Society to inquire about her Eagle Scout service project. Elena led this project in honor of her great-grandparents, John and Lottie Cianciolo, both of whom were steadfast 1859 Jail volunteers before their passing earlier this year.

The Jackson County Historical Society salutes Elena Cianciolo and the approximately 30 volunteers with Troop 7220, who helped spruce up the 1859 Jail, Marshal's Home & Museum. Scouts and volunteers removed weeds in an overgrown area, installed gravel to the fire escape landing, painted doors, railings and fencing, and installed a new planting box inside the jail's entryway.

We are extremely appreciative of their time and efforts to helping beautify this historic landmark.
