Plan Your Tour

Tours of the Historic Truman Courthouse are available Monday through Thursday, from 11 am to 2pm.

Tours are by appointment only.

Please call 816-461-1897 or email staff@jchs.org 24-48 hours in advance.

During your tour you will see the historic Brady courtroom, Harry S. Truman’s office while he was presiding judge, and the Jackson County Art Museum.

Tours are free.

Arrival

The Jackson County Truman Courthouse is also open to the public for county-related business. Guest will enter on the Lexington Ave public entrance and go through security. You will then go to the Jackson County Historical Society History Center to meet your tour guide in Suite 120.

Our location is ADA compliant.

After Your Tour

Be sure to walk around the courthouse grounds outside to see the statue of President Harry S. Truman and other historical markers. Please consider visiting locally owned shops and restaurants. Other historical sites nearby in walking distance are the 1859 Jail Museum and the Harry S. Truman Home Visitor’s Center.
