National Park Service Centennial Event

The staff of the Harry S Truman National Historic Site invites you to join us on Saturday, August 20th in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. The Centennial celebration includes activities for adults and children. 
A special presentation by Clifton Truman Daniel, the grandson of Harry and Bess Truman will take place at the Truman Memorial Building-Auditorium, 416 West Maple, from 1:00-2:00 pm.  Please RSVP to Jenny Hayes at 254-2720 for this event
Clifton Daniel will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially dedicate the Noland Home at 216 North Delaware (across the street from the Truman Home). The ceremony will take place from 2:30-2:45. 
Children's activities include the opportunity to participate in a special Junior Ranger Program and hands-on art activities. The official “Bark Ranger” for our park will be appearing at the event. The activities will take place from 2:45-4:30. 
Delaware Street from Truman Road to Maple Avenue will be closed to traffic from 1:30-4:30 to allow set-up time and to safely accommodate activities scheduled for the day.
