Jackson County Historical Society
Educational Resources
Q: How old
is history? A: By the
time you finish reading this sentence, you will have your answer. [period;
end of sentence] Congratulations. You’ve just made history. Technically, each of us makes history in
every moment. Some moments, you will
agree, are more memorable than others.
Momentous moments. Minute
moments. Moments alone. Moments spent with others. Emotional moments. Moments we’d like to forgive and forget. History is about somehow documenting our
own moments, and learning more about others who have done the same. The Jackson County Historical Society believes
that it is important for people to learn about the history of their community
… about the lives and legacies of those who have gone before us. To that end, the Society strives to be an
educational resource for individuals—youths and adults—as well as for area
organizations, and corporations. Here are a variety of ways that you may contribute to and participate in educational
opportunities with the Jackson County Historical Society: Special
