Kemper Toll Describes the 1900 Century Ball, courtesy of her

Grace Kemper was a daughter of F. T. Kemper, who founded the (now)
Kemper Military Academy. Grace
married Phillip Riley Toll, who owned the Badger Lumber Company. The couple lived at 3500 Warwick
Boulevard in Kansas City when their daughter Nancy was born. The excerpt from Mrs. Toll’s 1901
